Patrick Ellis, 60, from South Africa captured the gut-wrenching video whilst on safari with his wife, Topaz, and son, Daniel, in Kruger National Park, South Africa.
The calf can be seen limping across the road with its herd following in its path.
It is believed that the elephant was caught in a snare trap, resulting in its right hind foot being lost.
