When his cat chewed the Wii cable console sensor bar, this guy discovered that he could replace it with just two candles.
The sensor bar is nothing more than two sets of IR leds. The remote ‘sees’ them with its IR camera (behind the black window in the front) and sends it’s position to the Wii via bluetooth.
So if you light up two candles, they emmit IR and the remote can easily use them as reference points.
