Morrisons Roof Collapses While On Fire In Kent

Firefighters were called to battle a blaze after a supermarket went up in flames and were forced to evacuate it’s customers before the roof eventually collapsed.

Fifty firefighters were called out to Morrisons in Folkestone, Kent, at around 07:30 after a fire in the cafe kitchen spread throughout the store this morning.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service said the cause of the blaze was a deep fat fryer as more specialist resources made their way to the store.

The store was opened just 30 minutes before the fire started and was quickly evacuated with no reported casualties.
