As if solving the Rubik’s Cube wasn’t challenging enough, one man from Melbourne, Australia decided to take his love of the iconic toy to a whole new level. Artist Giovanni Contardi creates astounding portraits using Rubik’s Cubes!
To date, Giovanni Contardi has use the classic puzzle to create portraits of Justin Timberlake, Robert Downey Jr., Will Smith, Dave Grohl, and others.
Each work can take talented Giovanni, 24, weeks to create, with the average portrait consisting for around 700 individually shaped cubes.
Giovanni started solving Rubik’s cubes when he was 7 years old and made working on this art form his full-time job in September 2018.
