Boy With Downs Syndrome Invited To Scan At Supermarket

This adorable boy was invited to serve behind the cash register of his ‘favourite shop’ after the manager of the supermarket spotted him playing in a closed lane.

Though shopping with any child can prove to be a difficult experience, dad David Burke, 45, admits shopping with his son Jay – who has Down’s syndrome – can prove to be even more testing at times.

But on October 6, the firefighter was left “heart-warmed” when a manager at his local Tesco supermarket in Great Horton, Bradford, stepped in to lend a compassionate hand.

With the 10-year-old always excited to visit his favourite shop, David was having trouble coaxing Jay away from behind a closed cash register after the young-man decided he wanted to work for the store that day.
