While some people have known for years what the ridges on the bottom of salt and pepper shakers are really for, some are only just discovering the true meaning.
Kellie, 21, from Oklahoma, took to social media this week to unveil the incredible hack a colleague had shown her at work.
Posting a video to demonstrate just how simple the trick is, Kellie first shook the pepper mill the traditional way proving the finely grated grains weren’t coming out. She then rubbed the ridges of the bottom of the salt and pepper mills together in gentle circles, immediately coaxing a whole mound of pepper out.
