Woman Fired After Blocking Man From Entering His Apartment Building

A white woman was fired after getting caught on video blocking a black man from entering his own apartment building and then calling the cops on him.

Hilary Brooke Mueller attempted to stop D’Arreion Toles from entering his own apartment block because his presence made her uncomfortable. She confronted D’Arreion Toles as he entered the luxury building where he lives in St. Louis, Missouri. Toles filmed the distressing encounter.

The footage, which had been viewed over 6 million times as of Monday, shows the woman getting into the elevator with Toles and following him all the way to his apartment door in the Elder Shirt Lofts, asking for his name.

About 30 minutes after he got into his unit, a police officer knocked on his door and told him that Ms. Mueller felt “uncomfortable” about him being there.

Mueller’s employer, Tribeca STL, a luxury apartment company, said they decided to fire her after seeing the video. Hilary Brooke Mueller had an estranged husband that is half black.
