Python Covered With More Than 500 Ticks Rescued In Australia

Snake catchers in Australia have rescued a carpet python which was found covered in hundreds of ticks.

Tony Harris, a local snake catcher, found the serpent in a woman’s swimming pool where it was trying to drown the ticks. He later took it to a wildlife centre for treatment.

“Pythons are usually very docile to start with and because of how weak this one was he didn’t put up any fight,” said Harris.

Harris said on social media that veterinarians worked for hours to remove the ticks but that there were still some under the snake’s scales. However, the snake was recovering well, he added.
