Body cameras from a Twin Cities police department have captured officers giving high-fives to a young driver after he appeared to successfully give CPR to a stunned squirrel.
As they approached, the officers saw the young man, identified in the video as “good Samaritan”, touching a belly-up squirrel with a gloved hand, pressing a finger on its chest.
The man told officers the squirrel ran out in front of him and he tried to swerve out of the way, but he ended up hitting the animal with his car. Officers later determined the squirrel was not run over by any tires.
Following an officer’s instructions, the man flipped the squirrel over, then moments later, the critter jumped to life and scurried away.
