An inquisitive dog failed to get the seal of approval when it greeted another beach-goer in Australia.
Remarkable footage shows the golden retriever slowly wading his way towards a wild seal which was floating in shallow waters off Glenelg beach in South Australia.
The moment the seal spotted the canine companion he sprang into action, beating a swift retreat back out to sea.
Chloe Victoria, who filmed the rare scenes from a jetty, said she was amused to see the dogs unfruitful attempt to make a new friend.
